Judy Neel Murphy, longtime safety engineers head, dies

Judy Neel Murphy, the former head of two Chicago-area associations who once served as president of the Chicago Society of Association Executives, died Dec. 23. She was 83. Murphy was a veteran executive director of The American Society of Safety Engineers, serving there from 1980 to 1998. During her tenure, the group doubled its annual budget from $1.5 to $3 million.
